"Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart." William Wordsworth
Daybreak
In the first ray of light that ushers in day, there blooms my hope. Unfurling as a bud seeking the sun. Sparkling fingers of dawn push against the darkness. Transferring its energy into a displaced heart.
Beautiful poem.

ReplyDeleteThat contrast between light and dark adds to the sense of longing and distance. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeth, that is a lovely interpretation. Thank you so much.
DeleteBeautiful poem. It's as if the words conduct the warmth of the sunrise in the accompanying picture.

Nicely written.
ReplyDeleteI like your use of end stops for each line, as though to take a breath, and savor each observation. ~
